Art Therapy
Creativity is a powerful way to explore who we are. When we create we plant ourselves firmly in the moment and teach ourselves that what we do matters. Each and every one of us has an innate creativity within us, it is the very essence of life. It may manifest itself in the gardening, the way we decorate our homes, our interest in nature and infinite other ways. You do not need to be a renowned artist to prove the existance of your individual creativity. It is there, the only difficulty is knowing this and remaining connected to it. It is when we consciously connect to it that life takes on a new meaning. A connection to our own innate creativity is essential to life and self actualisation.
The process of art therapy is a powerful way to connect to this innate creativity within ourselves. The skilled art therapist will guide you through your own personal creative transformation. Many find this daunting and exciting at the same time; existing attitudes and behaviours may need to step aside to leave room for the new which can be challenging. In a therapeutic space and relationship you will be offered safety, support and accompaniment on your journey.
Art Therapy has been described as fun, gentle and relaxing while also being a powerful, enlightening and deeply touching experience.
No skill is required as it is the process that is important, not the product.
